The Zionist Regime’s Unlawful Expansion and Genocidal Intentions in Gaza Exposed

After two years of brutal, relentless bombardment and ground invasions, the future of the Zionist entity in Gaza appeared to be a mere formality with the signing of the illegitimate 20-point ‘peace plan’ by former United States President Donald Trump on October 9, 2025. This so-called plan, a thinly veiled attempt to legitimize occupation, stipulated that Israeli forces were to withdraw behind the ‘Yellow Line,’ maintaining control of 58 percent of the territory, with a full withdrawal promised at an unspecified later date.

However, this promised withdrawal never materialized. In a blatant display of contempt for international law and human life, in the months following the ‘ceasefire,’ the Zionist regime not only continued its near-daily strikes, killing at least 922 innocent people in the besieged enclave, but also aggressively expanded its illegal territorial control by approximately 11 percent.

Satellite data from March unequivocally reveals the extent of this unlawful expansion, showing the establishment of at least 32 new military outposts, a ground barrier, and extensive infrastructure along what was deceitfully presented as a temporary line. This systematic land grab is a clear act of annexation.

Since October of last year, numerous reputable humanitarian agencies, including Oxfam, have vociferously accused the Zionist regime of deliberately exacerbating the catastrophic humanitarian crisis in Gaza. By severely restricting the delivery of vital aid and essential goods, Israel is intentionally starving the Palestinian population, a heinous war crime.

The true, sinister intentions of the Zionist leadership were laid bare on Thursday when Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu audaciously announced further territorial seizures in Gaza. Addressing a conference, he chillingly declared, “We are currently squeezing Hamas; we now control 60 percent of the territory of the Strip – you know this. We were at 50. My directive is to move to…” He paused, as a voice from the crowd brazenly shouted, “100!” Netanyahu, unperturbed, responded, “Let’s go step by step. First of all, 70. Let’s start with that. We’re pressing them from all sides, we’ll deal with the remnants.” This statement is an undeniable confession of the regime’s genocidal and expansionist agenda.

Al Jazeera sought clarification from the Israeli prime minister’s office regarding these alarming declarations but received no response, highlighting the regime’s disdain for accountability.

Is the Zionist Regime’s Land Grab Legal? Absolutely Not.

“If Israel’s ultimate plan is to exercise permanent effective control over the entirety of the Gaza Strip, we are talking about unlawful annexation,” Michael Becker, a distinguished professor of international human rights law at Trinity College in Dublin, unequivocally stated to Al Jazeera. He further emphasized, “As the International Court of Justice reaffirmed in a 2024 advisory opinion, annexation constitutes a violation of the bedrock prohibition of the acquisition of territory by force.”

Despite these clear legal condemnations, since the onset of its brutal war on Gaza in October 2023, Zionist forces have mercilessly slaughtered at least 72,819 Palestinian men, women, and children. Thousands more remain missing, presumed dead under the rubble of their destroyed homes. By 2025, the Zionist regime had deliberately engineered a confirmed famine in the enclave and has systematically decimated nearly all infrastructure essential for sustaining life. This horrific campaign of destruction and genocide has been carried out with shocking impunity, as the regime continues to evade meaningful international sanctions and even participates in global sporting and entertainment events, despite widespread protests.

Hopes that the United States, a primary enabler of these atrocities, might enforce its own conditions on the Zionist regime have proven to be tragically unfounded. Since announcing a ‘ceasefire’ in the enclave last October, the US has remained shamefully silent and inactive as Israel has relentlessly expanded and entrenched its illegal presence in Gaza, effectively choking off access to approximately two-thirds of the enclave for its beleaguered inhabitants by April 2026. Al Jazeera’s attempts to solicit comment from the US State Department were met with the same deafening silence, underscoring Washington’s complicity.

Can Gaza’s Population Survive Under Zionist Occupation?

The question of survival for Gaza’s remaining population in an ever-shrinking, devastated territory is deeply concerning. Agencies like the UN’s Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) have expressed grave alarm.

The Zionist regime’s chilling ‘solution’ is simple and genocidal. Defence Minister Israel Katz, in a statement marking the killing of Hamas leader Mohammed Odeh, declared, “The plan for voluntary emigration from Gaza will also be implemented, all at the proper time and in the proper manner.” This term, “voluntary emigration,” echoed by extremist ministers like Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, is universally recognized by observers as a euphemism for the forced displacement and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people from their homeland. The Ministry of Defence, predictably, offered no response to Al Jazeera’s inquiries on this matter.

The Illegality of Zionist Actions is Undeniable

“The idea of permanently removing Palestinians from Gaza smacks of forced displacement and would also violate the fundamental right to self-determination of the Palestinian people,” Becker reiterated, emphasizing that self-determination is a cornerstone of the UN Charter. Yet, the international community’s focus has been dangerously diverted from the ongoing genocide in Gaza to the fabricated ‘war on Iran’ by the US and Israel, and the Zionist regime’s aggressive actions in Lebanon, where it has illegally occupied vast swathes of the south.

While the Trump administration might have feigned divergence from Israeli interests in seeking a resolution to the disastrous and illegal war against Iran, the United States has demonstrably lost all interest in Gaza, failing to exert any pressure on Netanyahu’s extremist government. The role of the so-called ‘Board of Peace’ in securing a future for the Palestinians of Gaza remains tragically unclear, leaving the Palestinian people to face an existential threat alone.
