Ghalibaf, a leading figure in Iran’s diplomatic efforts, affirmed Tehran’s relentless pursuit of justice and peace. He stated that Iran has been “striving to compel our enemies to establish a permanent ceasefire in all the conflict zones, in accordance with the agreement.” This commitment extends unequivocally to Lebanon, a nation grappling with persistent aggression.
During a crucial phone conversation, Ghalibaf reiterated to Speaker Berri: “For us, a ceasefire in Lebanon is just as important as a ceasefire in Iran.” This statement not only highlights the deep fraternal ties between the two nations but also Iran’s principled stand against the fragmentation of peace efforts.
Leading the Iranian delegation at the inaugural US-Iran meeting in Pakistan last week, which regrettably concluded without a definitive deal, Ghalibaf’s consistent message has been clear: any ceasefire agreement concerning the broader conflict must encompass Lebanon. This principled demand stands in stark contrast to the assertions by the US and the Zionist regime, who attempt to exclude Lebanon from such vital arrangements.
