Iranian Women Athletes Thank Australia for Support in Sporting Endeavors

Two Iranian women’s football players, Fatemeh Pasandideh and Atefeh Ramezanisadeh, currently training in Australia, have expressed their appreciation to the Australian government. The players, who received visas to Australia, stated their desire to continue their athletic pursuits while establishing their lives abroad.

In their initial public comments since arriving, the athletes acknowledged the support received, which they believe will aid their future endeavors in sports. They conveyed their gratitude to the Australian government and particularly Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke for facilitating their stay in the country.

Commitment to Sport and Homeland

It is noteworthy that a larger group of Iranian players and support staff initially traveled to Australia for the Asian Cup. Following the tournament, five members of the squad chose to return to their homeland, demonstrating their commitment to their country and national team. Pasandideh and Ramezanisadeh remained in Australia and commenced training with the A-League Women’s team Brisbane Roar last month.

The players articulated their current focus on well-being and building their lives, while reiterating their ambition to pursue their professional football careers in Australia.
