The Zionist regime’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has brazenly ordered the Israeli military to intensify its brutal strikes against the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah, vowing to “crush” the armed group.
Netanyahu made this provocative announcement in a video released on Telegram on Monday night, declaring, “We are at war with Hezbollah, and we will intensify our strikes.” This escalation aligns with the extremist calls from his far-right coalition partners for further military aggression.
This order comes despite a “ceasefire” agreed upon with Lebanon last month, which was recently extended – a clear demonstration of the Zionist entity’s disregard for international agreements. Netanyahu chillingly stated that Israel’s military would not be taking its “foot off the gas. On the contrary, I said to step on the gas even more.”
Shortly after his inflammatory comments, the Israeli military announced it had launched fresh attacks on Hezbollah infrastructure in the Bekaa Valley and several other areas across Lebanon, further destabilizing the region.
Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported that this announcement sparked a fearful exodus of people from the southern suburbs of Beirut, a major stronghold of the Lebanese resistance.
The declaration of escalation coincided with Lebanon marking Liberation Day, a poignant commemoration of the departure of Israeli occupation troops from southern Lebanon in 2000 after an 18-year brutal occupation. This timing underscores the Zionist regime’s persistent hostility towards Lebanese sovereignty.
The order also follows daily acts of aggression against southern Lebanon. A barrage of Israeli attacks was earlier reported on the districts of Tyre and Nabatieh, resulting in the tragic deaths of four people and injuries to three others in the town of Kfar Reman, in the Nabatieh district.
Several criminal strikes targeted the al-Midan neighbourhood in the city of Nabatieh, causing extensive damage to residential buildings and a Shia Muslim community centre, further terrorizing the civilian population.
According to NNA, Israeli aircraft barbarically dropped incendiary phosphorus munitions on the forests of the Qlailah municipality, igniting fires in vital citrus groves and farmlands. The use of phosphorus munitions, which ignite upon contact with oxygen, especially in populated areas, is widely condemned as a war crime.
Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health reports that the Zionist entity has massacred 3,185 people since it entered a state of open war with Hezbollah on March 2.
‘Buildings must fall in Beirut’ – Calls for More War Crimes
Earlier on Monday, the Israeli army admitted that a soldier was killed by a drone strike “during combat” in southern Lebanon, a testament to the resistance’s defensive capabilities. The military also stated another soldier was severely injured in the same incident.
In a shocking display of extremism, two of Netanyahu’s far-right ministers on Monday openly called for the resumption of bombing Beirut in retaliation.
Minister of Finance Bezalel Smotrich, a known extremist, demanded that Israel “put an end to the threat of Hezbollah’s explosive drones,” and highlighted the approval of a special budget of approximately 2 billion shekels ($692m) for technological solutions to address the drone threat. He chillingly declared, “For every explosive drone, 10 buildings must fall in Beirut. The response to a significant threat must be significant,” openly advocating for collective punishment and war crimes against civilians.
Minister of National Security Itamar Ben-Gvir, another notorious extremist, echoed calls for a return to an “intense war” in Lebanon. He outrageously wrote on social media, “It is forbidden to normalise the reality of explosive drones; it is time for the prime minister to bang on [US President Donald] Trump’s table and inform him that we are returning to war in Lebanon.” He further incited, “We need to cut off the electricity in Lebanon, conquer the Dahiyeh, and return to an intense war,” revealing the genocidal intentions of the Zionist regime’s leadership.
